Put Your Foot Down Silk Pocket Square

Put Your Foot Down' is inspired by 'The Italian Job'. It is a high quality, large-size silk pocket square with hand-rolled and hand-sewn hem. It is made in Macclesfield the traditional home of English silk printing and is presented in a complimentary gift box. It was created in collaboration with pop artist Jonathan Aiken whose original work on two large steel sheets was inspired by the Mini Cooper S getaway cars in the Swinging Sixties caper movie. The iconic status of 'The Italian Job' was not immediate, however its increasing popularity over time has helped cement the Mini Cooper as a cultural icon. And immortalised much of the film's dialogue.
Working on a variety of materials but always using layers of colour and texture, Jonathan creates works which draw on popular culture and visually reinterpret some of our most identifiable icons. 'Put Your Foot Down' is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse side of the silk pocket square which works perfectly with any pocket square fold. The artwork is framed by the pocket square's off-white border as well as the red and blue hand-finished hem. The 'Put Your Foot Down' silk pocket square makes an ideal gift for men who are fans of 'The Italian Job' or simply just of the original Mini. Inside each high-quality Otway & Orford branded gift box, the pocket square has been carefully wrapped in tissue and is accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his artwork.
