This version evokes images of a British country walk, hedgerows, wild flowers and fauna.Ã‚ This classic Fair Isle pattern was originally created in 1982, for the iconic fashion designer Laura Ashley. A true modern classic in design. Crafted on hand knitting machines with traditionally linked trims in the the Michael Ross workshops in Thatcham, England.Ã‚ Michael Ross knitwear are commitment to top quality design, construction and materials and uses 100% Scottish Wool. Each jumper is made to order and due to their nature takes 8 weeks to make but they are certainly worth the wait. Made in Thatcham Standard sizing:-

Meet the Maker: Michael Ross

Established in 1979 in the Shetland Islands, Michael Ross creates bespoke hand-framed Fair Isle knitwear of extraordinary quality, now crafted in Thatcham, Berkshire. Founders Denis and Anna developed original designs drawing inspiration from fine art, the English countryside, and cinema - creating the Fair Isle jumpers seen in the House of Gucci film and producing pieces for Gucci and Laura Ashley. Using hand-frame knitting machines with traditional linked trims, Michael Ross achieves remarkable complexity with patterns containing up to 11 colours - impossible with automatic machines - creating nuanced colour play and shade variations. Each garment uses 100% pure new wool from Yorkshire, Donegal, and Shetland, hand-woven and made-to-order over eight weeks. Their intricate, luxurious Fair Isle crew necks, slip-overs, and waistcoats represent the pinnacle of British knitwear craftsmanship.
