Silver Oak Bark Necklace

Issy White silver necklaces are cast from the bark of an English Oak tree. It is made from sterling silver and is hung from an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
Like all of Issy White's jewellery on SirGordonBennett, this silver necklace is the result of countless hours spent searching in British woodland for Nature's wonders. Issy 'forages' for the organic shapes produced by our flora and fauna, then turns them into eye-catching pieces using a process known as lost wax casting. Once the shape has been captured in metal, she works on it in her studio on the edge of Epping Forest, accentuating its natural beauty and gently forming it to fit the human body.
26mm diameter - 6mm width - 18" chain

Meet the Maker: Issy White

Sussex-based jeweller Issy White transforms fragments of nature into stunning contemporary pieces using the ancient lost wax casting technique. Her distinctive work begins outdoors, foraging bark from English Oak, Hawthorn and London Plane trees, fallen seeds and natural textures which are then cast in bronze, sterling silver or gold. With nearly two decades of experience and training from Holts Jewellery Academy, each piece is carefully manipulated to harmonise with the body's contours, often embellished with precious gemstones including sapphires, tourmalines and diamonds. Working from her studio, Issy creates jewellery that captures the raw beauty of the British landscape, where every ring, earring and pendant tells the story of a tree's journey. Her sustainable approach celebrates the textures found within flora and fauna, creating timeless pieces that connect wearers back to nature whilst showcasing exceptional British craftsmanship and an obsession with preserving the natural world's exquisite detail.
