Unlike imported slate, each piece showcases natural variations in color featuring pyrites, spar, copper, and iron inclusions that make every item truly one-of-a-kind. Powered by hydroelectricity from the mountain beck and using that same water to cool their polishers rather than oil, they maintain an exceptionally small ecological footprint. Master stonemasons handcraft each piece, with bespoke labels detailing which quarry the slate originated from and which artisan created it - a 250-million year guarantee of Lake District heritage.
