The sound is similar to a theremin, ethereal and haunting creating a continuous portamento/glissando tone. Each saw is made exactly as a traditional saw from Thomas Flinn & Co in Yorkshire. But they have some of the teeth taken off at the end so you don't snag your clothes when you play. You hold the handle between the knees and use the bow to create the sound. The beautiful Parkstone Musical Saw 30" with a walnut handle comes in a gold leafed presentation box, with bow, rosin and cheat.
