Are you old enough to remember the trundling of the electric milk float? And dare we say maybe even the horse and cart? And also the jangle of leather milkman's satchel as the milk man rummaged around for change? Well, Brit Stitch have reimagined the humble milkman's satchel into a versatile and useful red leather bag. The origin's of the original vintage red milkman satchel are rather splendid too. Peter Jones leather works in South Wales was asked one day, over 40 years ago to create a milkman's satchel for the local milkman. Which Peter Jones duly did. Then only recently, the same milkman came back to not ask for another bag to be made but simply to fix the leather strap. This was the inspiration in creating milkman satchels in a variety of colours.
The Brit Stitch vintage red milkman satchel has a detachable, adjustable strap, magnetic fastening and inner pocket. The vintage red is a striking colour and will only get better with age.
