Meet the Maker: Kaymet

Kaymet has been hand-making exquisite anodised aluminium trays in London since 1947, transforming from wartime radar component manufacturer A. Kahn into Britain's premier decorative serving tray maker. In 1948, their gleaming trays caught the discerning eyes of Queen Mary and Princess Royal at the British Industries Fair, beginning a royal connection that earned them a prestigious Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen in 2018, 70 years after first supplying the royal household. In 1952, Kaymet trays graced the SS Gothic when refitted as the Royal Yacht for Queen Elizabeth's 1954 Coronation world tour. From classic ribbed designs dating to the 1950s to pressed trays with distinctive cast aluminium handles bearing the Kaymet logo, each piece undergoes meticulous hand-finishing in their London workshop. Available in lustrous silver, gold and vibrant colours, these timeless trays represent British design at its finest, combining retro-chic aesthetics with exceptional durability that will grace the finest homes for generations to come.
