Founded in 2012 by volunteer beach warden Dom Bridges, Haeckels of Margate creates natural ecological seaweed skincare and wild fragrances from their Margate headquarters. Disillusioned by mass-produced cosmetics, Bridges began experimenting with hand-harvested seaweed in his family kitchen, holding one of only two government licences in England to harvest seaweed for manufacturing. Today, this B Corp certified company hand-harvests over 140 edible seaweed species from Margate's shores, processing them in their laboratory to create exceptional skincare products rich in vitamins, minerals, and anti-bacterial properties. Haeckels plays an active role in coastal conservation, organising regular beach cleans and marine surveys. Their products are crafted with integrity and style, celebrating the natural wealth of Britain's coastline whilst promoting sustainable consumption.
