Durable enough to stand-up and face-down the worst the high seas could throw at the Naval Officers who swore by them, Original Montgomery pride itself on its authentic heritage as the original supplier to the British Admiralty (Royal Navy) in the First and Second World War. Proudly English made, utilising many of the same construction methods along with the very best raw materials, such as Italian-made, Recycled Wool.

Meet the Maker: Montgomery

Original Montgomery has dressed everyone from the British Admiralty to fashion models since supplying the Royal Navy with duffle coats in the 1890s. Named in homage to Field Marshal Montgomery who made the duffle coat standard issue for troops during World War II, this Northampton-based manufacturer continues to handcraft authentic toggle coats and submariner sweaters in England using traditional construction methods. Their iconic duffle coats feature luxurious recycled wool from Italian mills in Tuscany, genuine buffalo horn toggles, and oak bark tanned leather details. Each garment is meticulously hand-finished with the same dedication to warmth, protection, and durability that has defined Montgomery for over 125 years. Their premium British-made knitwear, including classic submariner sweaters in merino wool, carries forward the proud heritage of nautical outerwear excellence.
