Cora Linen Cushion

Cora linen cushion is inspired by the patterns of the Kuba cloth, a traditional embroidered fabric from the Congo. Printed onto linen, this modern interpretation references the distinctive graphic shapes found within the textiles, combined with autumnal tones of green, blue and orange. The cushion is finished with a green and white braided cotton piping and a white back in British velvet.

Meet the Maker: One Nine Eight Five

One Nine Eight Five is a sustainable British design studio founded in London in 2016 by Eleanor Nadimi after years working in the fast fashion industry. Named "Best Sustainable Homeware & Soft Furnishing Brand 2023" by SME News, this innovative studio creates unique contemporary cushions, throws, wall hangings, and textiles that are designed and manufactured entirely in Britain using sustainable processes. The brand's striking prints and bold color combinations draw inspiration from film, art, and fashion, transforming high-quality materials including recycled cotton and wool into covetable pieces. Their signature throws are crafted from off-cuts salvaged from clothing factories, woven and hand-finished using traditional techniques in British mills. One Nine Eight Five's commitment to closing the loop on waste without compromising on design has established them as leaders in the circular economy, supporting local manufacturing while creating pieces meant to last generations.
