Meet the Maker: Charles Farris

Britain's oldest candlemaker, Charles Farris has illuminated the nation since 1845 when founder Charles Farris began crafting pure beeswax candles for London churches using medieval techniques. Appointed Royal Warrant Holder to Her Majesty The Queen, this historic London company still supplies Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral with their ceremonial candles. Now based in rural Wiltshire, their factory employs traditional Victorian-era methods including the slow, deliberate hand-dipping process that can take days per candle - the only way to achieve their signature smooth finish. Their luxury scented collection works with master blenders to create fragrances inspired by Britain, hand-pouring each candle and finishing them in artisan glass. Nearly 180 years of expertise makes Charles Farris the ultimate candlemaker, where heritage meets modern luxury.
