Featuring a grown-on hood and a-line silhouette, the Barton gilet wears well in place of a jacket in mild transitional weather or on a chilly summer's evening, over lighter clothes. Cut from thier signature Lavenster recycled polyester, quilted in a classic 2" diamond pattern. With lightweight and compact wadding which affords warmth without adding bulk. Featuring two generous hand pockets and button front fastening, we've finished with organic cotton corduroy binding for enhanced durability and a neat finish. Founded in 1969 in the Suffolk village of Lavenham by Mrs Elliott, this legendary brand revolutionised outerwear by creating the world's first quilted nylon horse rug. Originally designed for equestrian use, their signature quilted jackets became a country-style staple by 1972. Now operating from a purpose-built factory six miles from their original location, Lavenham employs 102 artisans who execute a precise 16-point production process. Using British fabrics wherever possible and their patented Lavenster material, every jacket is designed and manufactured in-house. This family-owned business has collaborated with prestigious brands including Kenzo and Fred Perry, whilst maintaining traditional construction methods that create durable, repairable garments.
