And good news. Silvine Originals are back. After stumbling through the archives, Silvine realised this iconic design deserved to flourish back to life. And grace our tables, desks and hallway tables once more. Plus, these characteristic Silvine Originals are crafted in the same way they have always been created.

The story of Silvine Originals starts over 175 years ago in Otley. Straddling the border between North and West Yorkshire. Behind a blue door where they still make them. Each of the gorgeous notebooks in this collection is still manufactured using the same machinery as they did six generations ago. Singer sewing machines are still used to stitch the spines.

The paper comes from Cropper Mill in Kendal. Another British company that is in its 6th generation of ownership. The detail to the original note books is certainly stunning. From the natural white, slightly textured 90gm2 paper that adds an extra touch of luxury to your writing experience. Through to the 300gm2 red dyed covers that are perfectly colour matched from the 1960’s, all the way to the perforated edges that make removing pages simple. Everything within these Silvine Originals is not only designed to make the act of writing down one’s thoughts an experience in quality, they are crafted to bring an element of whimsy and pure pleasure to any expression you decide needs to be jotted down. Even if that means you’re scribbling down this weeks’ shopping.
