Classic British Fine Earthernware
Burleigh Pottery have been crafting classic pottery in Stoke on Trent since 1851
Having been hand crafting high-quality ceramics for over one hundred and fifty years, Burleigh Pottery is a testament to the phrase “if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well” as the pride they put into the traditional manufacturing show in the fine finish of each and every product.
The technique used to give the beautiful designs, an underglaze tissue printing method, makes their products unique. This English technique is over 200 years old and Burleigh is the only remaining company in the world who uses this technique. Further adding to the air of sophistication surrounding these exceptional items.
The company was founded in 1851 in Stoke-on-Trent under a different name, however. In 1889 Mr William Leigh and Mr Frederick Burgess formed a partnership and took over running the business, becoming known as ‘Burgess and Leigh’, moving the base of operations to Middleport Pottery where they can still be found to this day. It wasn’t until the twentieth century that the name was changed to ‘Burleigh’. Their classic designs are true Modern Heritage and will grace and elevate any occasion and any table.
